I did a water hunt last weekend.  Saturday they were having a Triathlon so I went to the other side of the lake and realized they used the whole perimeter of the lake for the swimming event.

I went back Sunday.  This was more like it, a rainy day and nobody there.  I detected in the water for about 4 hours.  Took a break and sat in a lounge chair for about ten minutes in a down pour of rain, first time I have ever done that, LOL.

Finds from the lake.  Around $7.00 in mixed currency change, three silver rings, a junk bracelet and some fishing tackle.

I need to get one of these, a wood splitter omatic.  Just put the meter length logs in the carriage and it cuts the wood to length and splits it.  Unfortunately it is huge, LOL!

Our town was invited to a medieval festival Saturday.  We attacked their town in our medieval attire and weaponry.  This re-enactment of the battle was narrated by a local Historian who studies medieval history of the area as a hobby and has studied some of the earliest archives available, he does an awesome job.  We would fight for about two minutes then the narrator would tell more of the story, the breaks in fighting represented the days it took to break through the army and siege the castle, which we burned.  This was really a great time learning and seeing how things were done in the medieval days and combining the history with detecting is awesome!  I will admit I am a little sore today after the battle.  The helmet weighs about 3 pounds and the sword about 5 pounds and I wore the uniform for 7 hours.  I took a battle axe hit to the shoulder and have a painful gash where it hit.  There were too many people on the small battle field and afterwards I thought about how dangerous this really was, LOL.  Our town’s 1000 year festival is next weekend, that should be a lot of fun.  That is me on the left with the sword.

One of the medieval camps set up around town with a small band and dancer.  In the middle is our narrator telling a story.

A catapult that launched softball sized rocks.  The castle, a wooden tower in the background was set fire by catapult launching flaming balls.  Part of the battle field is in front of the castle.  Being a participant I did not get many pictures.  HH, Mike

Danke Jungs!  Hey Jeff, I have a Fisher 1280 aquanaut water detector.  I use a diving suit and detect up to chest level, need to get a weight belt as the diving suit tends to make me float in the water.  I am considering getting my diving license but it is hard to justify the money being this far inland and I would have to have a partner to dive with.  Any interest in getting your diving license, LOL?  HH, Mike

I spend quite a proportion of my life avoiding getting wet. Huch
I think diving at my age would be a bad idea. Unentschlossen

I reckon Jeff would only take up diving if someone invented a mask he could smoke in as well. Frech
