Year 1200 -1500 Gilded Silver Dress Buckle - Restored by me.

14 days ago i found this. Didnt really had any clue of the importance when found. It turned out to be a dress hook (½ as female part missing) dated from 1200 to 1500. Seen by the Gothic M for Maria (Mother of christ). 
Nice piece of silver came alive from some green inclosure.. My first attempt on home electrolysis.. Succesfull - as I already have started to clean a shoebuckle for 1690-1720 with the iron peg intact..
Here my fast rig is - it took around 10 min to set up.. (In a dumpster I found a charger to some garden grass trimmer..- it is 13.2 V and 490 maph) I would say it get pretty warm now it have been running for 2 hour.. So I give it a rest..

I have to admit I did give it a soft and fast polish with baking powder in the end.. So it shine littel..
Thanks for reading and looking.. would say Im impressed by home Electrolysis, as I have only tryed huge 200 L one at the museum before..

I wouldn’t have expected that this artefact could be made of silver ….. and on your tiny little pictures (why ?) the material still seems to be brass or bronze 
But nice work and of course nice dress fastener !

Not quit sure ,but maybe your account is indeed still a little bit restricted . Among others, I guess you have a smaller size-limit on pictures until you got the status "Bürger" (15 posts) .
So by now ,you should minimise your pics to 100 kb or below, before you try to upload them to the forum . You upload pictures by using the "Datei auswählen"-button in the left corner beneath the textfield .
Like I said, I’m far from certain about this limitthing ,but to play it save, just try a smaller picture next time (you know, smaller data amount and not smaller viewing size)  …….or just write some further posts and take a bigger pic or as much as you want – no limt around here anyway

And also, posting good but tiny photos I think it's not really a mistake - dont have to apologise for that !

Thank you - No photos should be sharp and okay.. I just used to "show in forum Codes" So in that way I dont have to downsize photos.. I try this upload think it is 786 KB..
I use Anhaenge/Bilder - aber ich könte es nict,, Maybe I have to pass 15 post to be able..

Nice medieval cloth fastener, but ist that really silver? Judging from the first pictures, it doesn't look like that ...

Hi All - If not silver then it is gold.. Im 99 % sure on Gilded Silver /vergoldetem Silber.. I try to upload photo one more time.. I sorry for the small photos - I like to explain.. On the forum I normally use we had a # photo by the day rule, not ot overload the server.. But We can upload unlimited photos from a Host.. Like Photobucket, Photoimage and so on.. Normally these will open up to be huge photo to study in details.. It didnt work for me her.. If some one know how, please Pm me how

These are excellent photos now, and a nice piece that is! Similar fasteners have been in the Hoard of Pritzwalk, buried ~1400 in northeastern Germany: Sie haben nicht die Berechtigung Links zu sehen.

Not fully convinced of the gilded silver yet, as you used elctrolysis on it, and that can change the appearance of brass and bronce quite a bit into appearing silverish. You could be right though.

There is a problem with the photo upload in the forum at the moment, it is not related to you not having enough postings, or any daily limit.

Thank you guys for nice reply.. I will try to do some better photos, and upload them.. I also have a Huge ring from same area, extremly nice.. I try upload that one later.. now im off to take child from Kindergarden..
