Hi guys!
My name is Alex, and I am from Ukraine. I have 10 years of experience using a metal detector (only in Ukraine). My main specialization is the ancient period: Ancient Greece, Rome, Scythia, and others. In my region, there was an enormous variety of cultures.
For obvious reasons, I am temporarily live in Germany, Hamburg. I have never done metal detecting in Germany because, of course, I understand that it is regulated/restricted here . I have read a little online about what is required to obtain permission, but I still haven’t decided to start the process because I hardly speak German, and honestly, I’m not sure I could manage all the bureaucracy, or I might misunderstand something and create problems for myself. I always follow and respect the laws and rules of Germany, just as I respect the German people.
In short, I am looking for experienced detectorists in Hamburg who could help me do everything the right way, and of course also to find new friends who share my favorite hobby.
Oh yes, I forgot to mention that I have always searched purely out of love for history. I have never sold any of my finds and I have no commercial motives.
Best regards, Alex
